Adding value to the design and construction process, streamlining work activities and seeing things from a new perspective.
Cornerstone can deliver quality construction by leveraging BIM tools to coordinate a project during its planning, design review, construction and building operation stages. We can provide comprehensive BIM services and will work with our clients to provide the level of BIM to best meet their needs.
Is BIM right for your project?
Benefits of BIM
Many people see 3-D drawings and models of buildings and think that is what BIM is all about. But BIM is really the process of generating and managing building data during its lifecycle. A 3-D Model is, in fact, a large part of BIM but it goes much deeper. There are many dimensions or stages to a building that is designed and managed with BIM including Design (e.g., programming and conceptual design), Spatial Analysis (system conflict resolution, estimating, and materials takeoffs), Construction (logistics, scheduling, etc.), Maintenance (planning for long and short term maintenance, troubleshooting, replacement, etc .)
Cornerstone was an early adopter of BIM digital tools to visualize and coordinate project conditions during the design and construction of our projects. We learned early that the process of merging all project systems naturally builds a team of project experts focused on the same goals. Using BIM helps us consolidate all aspects of a project during the design and helps us to schedule and visualize design intent during construction. This integrated team approach helps maximize the speed and quality of the project being built, while minimizing costs.
We create "3D" graphical digital models of project systems before we physically build them in the field. 3D visualization supports design understanding, enhances constructability analysis and collision detection, which saves the project in terms of schedule and cost.
